Pride Night

At the end of every school year we have Pride Night at the school.  It's a night to showcase all the things the kids have been working on.  It is a joy to go to each kid's classroom to look through their poems, projects, art and such, but the real joy this year was watching them perform.  Carley and Lauren participated in an after school French class the last couple of weeks and at Pride Night they got to sing some of the songs they learned in French.

Not to be out done, Kenny got to perform on the Marimbas.  I can't say enough about the music program they have here, it is AMAZING!!!  The music teacher LOVES what he does and it is clearly passed on to the kids as they can't help but smile and dance a little as they make music.

Kenny is also in 5th grade band this year.  They performed a few songs as well...not bad for 5th grade.  The band teacher from the junior high comes and teaches the kids how to play their various instruments during recess time.  Kenny gives up two recesses a week to learn trumpet and he loves it!

I love seeing the excitement of my kids showing off what they can do and have accomplished.  I say keep that enthusiasm coming!
