Piano Recital

I was bitter at first when I found out our friends were going to see Hunger Games on the same night as our kids' piano recital, but after the recital, I think we came out on top.  It was a joy to hear them play their songs.  And even though they all made mistakes (who doesn't), they did really well compared to how they sounded earlier this week.  They all worked hard and it showed.  I couldn't have been more proud.

This is Lauren's first year.  She did well compared to how nervous she was.

This is Carley's second year.  She struggled the most with memorizing her piece.  She was pleased to get through it.

Kenny is in his fourth year and still LOVES to play.  I never have to bug him to practice and quite often I see him sitting down at the piano to put in extra time.  I love how his talent is coming along.  He brought his music just in case he forgot a part.  Unfortunately, he blanked in a spot that was not a struggle spot.  He wasn't following the notes in his book so he had to really work to get past it.  That aside, he did amazing!  (maybe it's just a mom thing...)

Thanks Maureen for doing an amazing job with our kiddos!

Glad your kiddos did so well and are enjoying piano! That is great! Brian and I saw Hunger games last night and liked it, but we both liked the book better.

Wow!! They all sound so good! haha Kenny reminds me of myself, I loved to just sit down and play the piano too. Keep up the great work! Bugging them to practice will be worth it in the end. :)
