Filed Trips:
Went to Bonneville Dam with Kenny's class
Carley's class studied the Lewis and Clark expedition. We went to the Oregon City Pioneer Museum to learn more. Here my group is dressed in pioneer clothes.
A not so funny note about this trip. Carley and I got to volunteer to demonstrate how quickly cholera spread during the trek. They had volunteers come up and play out the rest of our family as well. In the scenario, Mark died off first followed by Kenny. Carley caught it but survived. I wasn't so lucky and passed away as well. They demonstrated that the orphaned kids would have been divided up and would probably part ways at their final destinations which they demonstrated with our survivors Carley and Lauren. Really sad to think about. It just might have to be my last Filed trip I go on if they are to kill me off when I volunteer. :)
Track:
A fun thing the elementary schools do is have a track meet at the end of the year. The kids don't really get to practice before. They choose what they want to try and then compete with 3 other schools. (It rotates which schools they compete against each year)
Here are some videos of the girls first try. (I have to mention that they are already practicing for next year. :)
Carley's Relay Race
Carley's 200
Some how I missed videoing Carley's 100
Lauren's 200
Lauren's 100
Don't they look tired?
Music Informances:
4th Grade is the year for learning the recorder
Lauren's warm up
Lauren playing the Base Marimba (her favorite)
Honorary 3rd Graders (Lauren taught Kenny her part).
To Kenny's left is our friend Heidi Parker. I love how she got into it!
Band Concert:
Kenny's last band concert of the year. Battery died so I only got the first song.
We were delighted to hear Kenny's name called for an award. We were so shocked and then cheering so I forgot to video or get pictures of him receiving his award. I took a picture with my phone later. Good job Kenny!!!
In there somewhere was Pride Night were the kids show off projects they have been working on. I didn't get pictures but I did get a picture at Carley's Excel Pride Night and Lauren's Art work from the Art and Science Fair.
Field Day:
I worked the obstacle course. I struggled getting pictures with my phone while Carley and Lauren raced through but I did get a few.

Phew! I think that is it. It's been a few months so I may have forgotten something. Why do they make the end of the year so busy?!!!! I haven't had a long enough break and I'm already dreading school starting in a few weeks. I guess I'll sign off to go play with my kids while I can! :)

This makes me miss those great schools, but I love all the amazing stuff your kids get to be doing! (Sad for the cholera, though!) What a fun end of the year.
