But first things first, we had a busy weekend leading up to Maui so I'm going to start there. Last Friday was Kenny's second pinewood derby. Kenny got to pick the design and color and he was pleased with the outcome. The car wasn't fast but he had fun anyway. They didn't combine the derby with other wards which equaled more fun as they were busy with all the runs and practically no waiting with only the 10 cars. The cub scout master was out of town and asked Mark to be the MC. Mark has always been entertaining and this night was no exception. The girls were kept busy with the small track and coloring. I think fun was had by all.

The next day was Lauren's ballet recital. I should mention upfront that this isn't from a studio, just an after school cheap little dilio. This session, the teacher seemed to be less committed. We will not be doing her class again. Lauren did enjoy herself and I guess that is all that matters.
Here are some photos and a video:

Great car Kenny! I love orange! I can't wait until Jalon and Cole get to do those things too.
What can I say about Lauren? I think she's going to take after ME and be a GREAT dancer! Ha, ha!
That is one of the coolest derby cars I've ever seen!! Looks like such a good time. And, not to badmouth anybody, but we had that same ballet teacher once and it lasted TWO lessons. Bye-bye $50. We didn't try that again. Lauren seems to have had lots of fun with it--she talked about it at preschool this week and walked around on her tippy-toes for a bit. :)
Studio or not, she still looks adorable! I guess it's not a total waste if she had fun?
