Girls Day

With Kenny gone all week at scout camp, working on merit badges, I thought it a good time for Carley and Lauren to work on their Faith in God.  One of the activities they chose was to plan and carry out an activity to do with an adult.  They decided to do a lunch for me.  Every thing was a secret and I was banished upstairs to get ready (nice dress was specified) while they got lunch ready.  This is what they planned...

Decorations

 Lunch in a fort

Cinnamon toast with chocolate milk and bananas.  They had an ingenious set up.  For the table they used a toy bucket that was clear and put this Halloween light that changes colors under the bucket.  The table cloth was tissue paper that allowed the light to show throw which was perfect under the dark fort.

I was forced to wear the scarf.

dessert...Oreos!

After lunch we decided to get hair cuts.  Lauren had been begging for bangs, so bangs it was.  Carley was way pass due for a trim.  When we got there, she informed me that she wanted to cut her hair short. Imagine my surprise!  I think she was just sick of me always combing out the knots and doing special  hair-dos.  I made her look through some books first to be sure.  As soon as she saw how it was turning out, her smile busted through and would not leave.  She LOVES it!

We tried to take a picture with us three but you can't even see Carley's hair so individual shots came after.

On a side note, these beautiful flowers are growing in our backyard for the first time in our 6 summers living here.  We did not plant them.  Go figure!

Their haircuts look great! Your girls have grown up so much. What a fun idea for Faith in God. We missed you guys this weekend. Hope Kenny enjoyed scout camp.

Oh how fun!! What creative girls! And what a fun time to work on Faith in God--while the boys aren't home. The haircuts are cute. I keep thinking they look SO different, but half of that is probably just that they've grown up so much since I saw them last. DARLING haircuts.
