NINE

is the age Lauren turned a week before Christmas.  We celebrated w/ just the fam on her actual birthday.  A few days later she had a "Peace/Tye-dye" birthday with friends.  But it didn't end there, she got to open the famous birthday bag from Grandma in Arizona.

Lauren's favorite dinner - tomato soup!

Silly Girl

I forgot to take pictures of the first activity at Lauren's party.  She wanted to do Tye-dying but I didn't want to deal with the mess.  Luckily I happened onto a way to do Tye-dying with Sharpies.  You simply put plastic cups under one layer of the t-shirt and wrap a rubber-band around the top.  Then you draw within the circle with the sharpies.  You then take a dropper full of Rubbing Alcohol and drop around the edges of the cup and watch it spread.  You fill in any dry spots with more drops of Rubbing Alcohol.  Once dry, wash in the washing machine with cold water and dry.  The shirts and some necklaces/pins/sunglasses were the party favors.

We then played Bingo from "PEACE" cards I made.  This is how they earned their favors.  We also played freeze dance.  We started with some 70's music but the girls couldn't get into the groove until we put on some pop music.  These girls have moves!

The girls got to decorate their cupcakes and I quickly added some ice-cream to their plates.

It was a fun and colorful party.

Gotta love birthday bags and the creative random things that come out of them!

Cleaning up the loot.
Happy 9th Birthday Lauren!

Happy birthday, Lauren. I know it's getting old when I keep saying this, but she's so big!!! She was FOUR when I taught her in preschool!!!

I L*O*V*E the cool rubber band sharpie tye-dye thing! I am so anti-messy, so I was excited to read what you did, but especially excited because it actually TURNED OUT SO COOL, too!!!

Happy birthday, Lauren. What fun!!

Happy Birthday, Lauren! I love that her favorite meal is tomato soup and grilled cheese. It's one of mine too. You are so creative! The T-Shirts look amazing! And what a great way to do them.
