She Made it to Double Digits!

How strange it is to realize my kids have all made it to double digits.  No matter how hard I try, I can't keep them little!

Grandma Ray sent the traditional birthday bag which is always loaded with tons of fun things!

Lauren's favorite from the bag was the Webkins hamster and matching slippers.

Below Lauren opened a present Kenny picked out.  I think she loves it!

The day after her birthday was a half day at school.  We decided to have a party with a few of her friends.  Lauren really wanted to watch a movie at her party.  I was a little worried as most kids have a hard time sitting still through movies at parties.  We made the party movie themed.  Upon arrival, the girls received goody bags to help them dress up for the movie premiere red carpet.  They had fun dressing up and using some of my scarfs.  They spent a great deal of time acting like movie stars and also being the adoring fans.  It was hilarious.

Why Carley has the scarf over her face and blowing the trumpet is beyond me.

We then played a white elephant game which was their movie candy.  These girls were so sweet they didn't want to steal away the treats.  They just ended up trading in the end.

Since I was worried they couldn't sit still during the movie, we added bingo to the mix.  We watched the movie "Flipped", which is way cute.  While previewing the movie I wrote down items that showed up during the film and made bingo cards to match the movie.  It was fun and helped them pay attention in the beginning.  They soon were happy to put the game aside to watch, as they all really enjoyed the movie..  None of the girls had seen it before.  So once the prizes were claimed, they settled in with their popcorn and candy.

After the movie they played charades, acting out their favorite scenes.

This is one of the little chant things they do all the time.  Sorry about the lack of focus.

We ended with opening presents and having cake and ice cream.
