All our friends abandoned us this year so we went with the invite we have received EVERY year...having Thanksgiving with the Foltzs. Afton is Mark's 1st cousin. We get together with them and their extended family often. So often that Larry's (Afton's husband) family has adopted us as their own. It just so happens that Larry's sister is in our ward so we had Thanksgiving down the street! Thank you Cooks for letting us join in the fun. Now let me just tell you, they are SERIOUS when it comes to food. We started with appetizers, tons of them. I took a picture when they were just set out. I should have waited because they just kept coming, and they were oh, so good!
In truth, by the time the main feast started, I wasn't hungry. But who could pass up the amazing feast?!!! I didn't get pictures of all the food but I did manage a picture of Mark's return of the Bacsauskey (turkey wrapped in sausage, wrapped in bacon).
Our hosts (the Cooks) ended up sitting by themselves after the little ones finished up.
Was there dessert/pies? Oh yes!
I think we spent 7 hours or so over there stuffing our faces.
The kids also acted out the Thanksgiving story. It wasn't supposed to be funny, but their reinactment of the pilgrims dying and being dragged off was hilarious. They did such a good job! It was a wonderful Thanksgiving.
