"It's Great Being a Kid!

You know the toys that have a million pieces and make quite the mess and if left at the kids level they get them out everyday but only play with them for a few minutes? I usually try to keep these toys up high and only get them out once in a while when the kids really want to play with them. And because they are up high and get played with rarely, when they are down, the kids end up playing with them for hours. On Saturday we got some before mentioned toys down. I got down all of Kenny's race track stuff and as the kids were rummaging through the box and building tracks, I heard Carley say,
"It's great being a kid!"
I have to agree and I was so excited to hear her realize that. It seems like lately she's been trying to grow up too fast. I love how they get really excited about old toys. There is nothing like being able to just play with no worries, no responsibilities. It really is great being a kid!

so true... it would be fabulous to just be a kid somedays. let someone cook for you, clean for you, even bathe you and get you dressed. the only worry on your mind is the next time you are going to the park or getting another sticker on your happy chart.... ;)

You need to write a book with all the quotes your kiddos say. They are just too cute!! It's amazing the complexity that such a simple phrase can carry...and that such a young child can recognize something so profound!! I LOVE IT!

You're smart to put the toys with the little pieces up high. That's a good idea. We've ruined so many toys from losing all the little parts. I should start doing that. And it is great to be a kid!!!! (and great to have kids. :)

My eyes are just becoming awakened to this whole new world of "blogging." I had no idea you could do the amazing things you have done. Wish you were here to tutor me. It has been so satisfying going through the various family links and seeing what all of you are up to. . .I love it! I'll try to stay better posted. It's so neat to see all that your family is experiencing. Lori
