Another Weather Update

I know some of you enjoy these weather updates and others . . . not so much. If you are in the "not so much" category please feel free to skip this post.

So yesterday Kenny comes home with a note saying the school received a tornado warning and ran their tornado drill bringing all the kids in from the portables. The whole school came into the halls and put their heads in between their legs. What an adventure for Kenny. They got the clear around 40 minutes later. The note was sent home saying the procedure went well. Now you may be wondering if a tornado indeed touch down. Yes, one did in Vancouver (we live on the border of Vancouver and Camas). The tornado ripped up trees and damaged a few houses. It also damaged a car dealership. the storm had penny size hail. So today at volleyball, I asked if this happens alot. I was informed the last one was in'72. That one destroyed a school and shopping centers, etc. It was a really bad tornado that killed people. Where did we move too?! The adventures just don't end!

It's always fun to hear about your weather adventures, since we don't have many here!! I remember after watching the Wizzard of Oz being freaked out about tornados. My mom kept telling me not to worry, California doesn't get any. (But we did have to do the earthquake drills at school. Those were fun.)
