holding up an elephant (below)

Next came the school's variety show. Carley's teacher had her morning and afternoon classes sing a couple of songs. The first was an alphabet song that the kids also signed to. Carley really didn't want to go to this but once we got there and she saw her friends (in which she is standing next to none of them in the pics), she jumped right in!
During intermission she was brave enough to get up on stage and mess with the microphone, even though she shouldn't have...

Not to be out done, Lauren did have some excitement of her own. She started ballet on Saturday (Carley decided to do soccer instead, which hasn't started yet), and she finally was able to get her earrings out in exchange for new ones! Carley got to take hers out today. They are both thrilled to change out their earrings as often as they change out their clothes (I try to keep it to a minimum). Sorry no pictures. :-(
I've got say, I'm so glad to be done with the ear cleaning stage. Remembering twice a day for 6 weeks turned out to be quite the challenge. I only thought about their own pain as they got their ears pierced, not the pain I was going to experience in making them get their earrings cleaned. And just so you know, the bottle of cleaner they give you is plenty for two girls instead of just one. I'm glad I opted out of getting a second bottle when Carley got hers done.

Yeah, no kidding! You HAVE been busy. Just keeping on top of everything kids do is a full-time job. :) Sounds like your kids are busy having fun, so that's good!
I just laughed and laughed at Kenny's expression of having an elephant sit on him. Oh, Karen. We do need to have Summer Play with him. He has soooo much theatrical talent!!!
Thanks for sharing pictures of all the great activities. I love watching them sing and participate. It's interesting to see their personalities develop. You are raising some mighty spirits. Must be because they have a good mom and dad.
