Well, the kids are back in school. And for Lauren, it's the first time at the "Big Kid" school. Excitement is in the air though I am a little on the fence about it. Kenny and Carley started on Wednesday. And Lauren started on Thursday because of the "Smart Start" program which I hate. They have a third of the class go at a time for half a day for the first week. Apparently they do this for anxiety reason for the kids and so the teacher can really get to know each child. I'm not fond of this process, probably because Lauren was sooooo ready.
Kenny is now in the 4th grade and thinks he's too cool for pictures.

Carley is in 1st and loves getting to eat lunch at the school.
Here are the kids at the start of the walking school bus route on the first day of school. We pick up a few more along the walk.
Carley obviously didn't want to be apart of the picture.
This year they are doing Kindergarten a bit differently. To save money, they are having the Kindergartners go either Monday and Thursday and every other Wednesday or Tuesday, Friday and every other Wednesday. This will cut out the mid day buses while having the kids in school the same amount of time. We'll see how it goes. Lauren is excited to eat lunch at school, but I worry about how much information they will retain with so many days in between class days.

Ahhhh, Karen! I'm so sorry. I know how much you wanted a little one at home right now. I wish there was something I could say that would make all that feel better but there isn't. Just remember, the Lord is in charge - even if we don't understand or like it for that matter. Just think of the bright side...MORE TIME FOR VOLLEYBALL!!!
The kids look so handsome and cute on their first day! I don't blame you for the worry over the Kindergarten schedule. That is weird! Enjoy a little quiet time, while the kids are away.
It's strange the first time they are all gone, isn't it? Let me know if you want to be lunch buddies:)
The kids are so big! Kindergarten is getting the brunt of the economy woes everywhere. I'm sorry that Lauren won't get to go everyday. At least you'll have a friend at home a few extra days a week. OH, and I'm so jealous that you get to walk to school and that you don't melt in the process.
What great pictures! Your kids are so stinkin' cute. You'll have to let me know what you think of the Kindergarten schedule. I think it sounds like the dumbest thing ever, but I've certainly been wrong before.
I'm excited to hear how you fill up your time. Give me some ideas for in a couple of years. I'm so glad Kaitlyn and Lauren are together!
I can't believe all your kids are in school! That is crazy! Cute pictures of the first day of school.
I can not believe all your kids are in school you LUCKY lady!! I cant wait to hear all your cool things you are going to do, Sad too..I understand..

My new Email is kentandrea2@q.com if you rather send me an email :)
Love the pictures! I have a 7th grader, so I totally understand about the "too cool for pictures" thing. I have to sneak mine in. In fact, we are driving back over to school today AFTER he gets home (today is the 1st day) to take a picture so nobody else will see him. LOL You'll have to keep us updated about how Lauren and you like this whole wacky schedule. I wish so much that Ethan were in Miss H's class with Lauren, but I'm just as happy to not have to deal with that M-Th-every other Friday thing. Ick.
