We are finally back to getting on with Grandpa and Grandma Ray's visit. That first weekend, Kenny had a scout camp out. So while he was busy with that and a dress rehearsal for his roadshow and I was busy with the shuttling of the above mentioned, everyone else went to a tulip farm.
It doesn't look fun and I don't feel like I missed out at ALL...I don't! ;)
It must have been tiring.
This brought us to the Sunday of the previous post so moving on...
For family home evening, we visited the new Visitor Center at the Portland Temple.
Among other small adventures, we went to Pride Night at the Elementary school.
For their final weekend here, we drove to the coast and stayed at Newport Beach. That evening, the kids had a great time swimming at the hotel.
Saturday was spent exploring the area...
The kids and I took this treacherous walk down the side of a rocky hill to get to natural tide pools. These were loose rocks. Carley practically surfed the rocks down.
The highlight of the trip was going on a whale watching cruise. It was too early in the season to see whales but the ride and the things we did get to do were AWESOME!
Sea Lions before loading on the boat.
To start off the tour, they talked about catching crabs. We got to be apart of the demonstration.
Lauren had no fear and loved the big waves of the open ocean.
Pulling in the crabs
Letting the crabs go.
The kids got an opportunity to drive the boat.
Using this bag and cup to catch Plankton.
Well, that's it! We had a ton of fun and look forward to the next visit!
