Yes! Mark knows someone who owns a beach house and as long as it isn't already rented out, we can use it for free and only pay the cleaning fee. Oddly enough, no one wanted it in chilly January. We had a 3 day weekend and jumped at the opportunity! We had a mini reunion and invited the Foltz family as well.
Surprisingly, it was a dry weekend. Super cold in the morning but nice during the day.
Kenny had a campout Friday night and I had Bunco so Mark went to the coast with the girls Friday afternoon. Kenny and I arrived Saturday around noon.
Before Kenny and I got their, This cute beach group went to our favorite LITTLE aquarium.
On Sunday we visited the SMALL Seaside ward. I'm pretty sure we doubled their primary.
After Church a few of us went on Nature walks.
On our walk we came up to this rock which looked like a nose in the sand. Ella and Carley added the face. :)
Others stayed indoors
The weekend was filled with games and exploring and GREAT food made by Mark and Larry.
The beach house was amazing! It was three levels and included a ping pong table, several decks, a sauna and more. Here is Carley at the ping pong table. Notice the window behind her...
Here is a closer shot. The ocean was literally out the back door!
Here are some more views from the main floor.
Monday as we were packing up to leave, surfers came out by the dozens to catch some waves. I'll leave off with some random surfers.

Karen, I think you are the last person I know besides me that actually keeps their blog going. I am making another 2 year blog book. I love having all my memories recorded next to the pictures. I love to see the pictures from your part of the country. Thank you for sharing! -Crystal
(I wasn't going to say this until I read the last comment, but I'm so glad you keep blogging!! DON'T STOP!!) :)
This looks like a fun trip!! I'm sure it was cold (but warmer than HERE in the winter!), but it looks really fun anyway!!! Love the photos. What a beautiful place.
