More on G&G's Visit

We went north up the coast to Astoria on our way home from Seaside. This is a picture of the bridge that links Oregon to Washington at the Columbia River. We called it "The Bridge to Nowhere" because of the fog.

While in Astoria, we visited the Clolumbia River Maritime Museum. We learned how incredibly dangerous it is to ship goods by boat from the river. The danger comes from the waves of the ocean crashing in to the down and out flow of the river. It was all so very interesting.

The kids had fun pretending to drive boats and press all the buttons. While we had fun reading all the history of the area and ships. It was a very cool place.

We got to tour a working Light Boat. Talk about tight quarters! We had to walk down steep steps to get below. The kids had fun trying out a few bunks.
