We arrived at out rental house in Seaside around 3:00 PM and had to immediately check out the beach.
Later, we headed into town for dinner. We saw a Pig N Pancake restaurant and just couldn't pass it up. We walked the shopping strip and found fun stores and a Merry-go-round. We got to the end of the strip just as the sun was setting. It was beautiful.
Our beach house was a short walk across a small street and down a rocky path that spit us our at the ocean. The house had two bedrooms completely separate from each other and a loft for the kids. It had a huge back patio. The back of the house backed up to a golf course. We had beautiful views from all directions.
The next day was spent at the beach and the Aquarium (same one as last time). This is the same octopus that I posted about in May. Here, he is completely calm, hence no longer orange. We were bummed that he wouldn't move around despite all our efforts to wake him up.
At the beach the kids had fun making rock sculptures. Mark found a huge log and just had to make it sick up out of the ground (it did not survive high-tide). We soon found out the kids couldn't be in the water by themselves as the waves were pretty rough where we were. Mark was struggling to keep both girls up when the waves came in so they had to take turns. The water was really cold so they didn't want to stay in long.
At night, Mark and I went for a walk on the beach with just us. We found a huge crab about a 1 1/2 feet long. Mark took this picture with his phone so it is grainy. It was high-tide at the time. We got caught by a huge wave. I could tell it was a big one so I took off running at top speed to get away and still had it get my feet. Mark wasn't so lucky on getting out and had it come up to mid waist. I have never seen a wave come in so fast and far. I must have ran 20 feet at LEAST!

Anyway, it was a very fun walk on a foggy night.
In the foggy morning, it was time to head out. After visiting the beach one last time and seeing the fallen log, we visited Cannon beach before leaving the area. It was beautiful!
It was a fun adventure and I can't wait to go back.

What a fun idea to stay in a beach house! I love beach photos. It looks like you guys had a really great time. How nice that you also got to spend so much time with Mark's folks.
How fun! We love the beach! Your pics make me want to go play in the waves.
I love it. It's so fun to see you at the places that we fell in love with. We ate at the Pig N' Pancake too. The house you stayed in looks great. I might have to get some info from you. We're going to try to go back again soon.
