Weight Loss Goal

It took me 6 months but I did eventually make my weight loss goal. I'm tempted to see if I can make those cherries bounce right of the chart. ;)

I'm constantly being asked how I did it and the answer is...

1. Slim fast - I know this one isn't easy for allot of people but it works for me. I buy the powder (can is disgusting) and have one for both breakfast and lunch with some healthy snacks until dinner. The goal is shrinking the stomach while not being TOO hungry. I struggled with hunger at the beginning but now it is no problem at all. And now that I've met my goal, I just do the slimfast drink in the morning, which definitely keeps me going longer than cereal or oatmeal.

2. Eat smaller portions. Mark hates it when I get on the topic of portion control so I will leave it at that.

3. Don't eat after 8:00PM (I go to sleep around 11:00). Now that I have made my goal, I'm struggling again with this one.

4. Exercise, exercise, exercise. I am a firm believer that you can not loss weight unless you exercise (I'm not talking about taking walks either). You can go with just changing what you eat but in my mind you are just maintaining your weight not losing. I exercised anywhere from 1 1/2 hours to 3 hours five days a week. Now that I have met my goal, I have dropped to 1 hr a day except for vb days. The three hours was my playing 2 1/2 hours of Volleyball and doing a 30 minute ab workout so not as bad as it sounds. The 1 1/2 hour was cardio and weight training. Like I said 6 months ago, there are no good gyms here so I found a tuff lady named Cathe Friedrich who has about 20 different workout programs that run on fitTV (on cable). She kicks my booty! At first I could not keep up and complete every rep and I wanted to pass out by each commercial. Now I can hang with her. I still feel dog tired but I can complete everything. The great thing about her program is she works EVERYTHING!

I'm not really a vane person I mean, I about never do my hair or do my nails etc., but I did want to take control of my weight. I realize allot of people would have been happy with the weight I was at 6 months ago. My problem with it was I was gaining about a pound a month with no end in sight and I was becoming sluggish and tired. Now I have my energy back and I feel good. My volleyball game has changed as well (Mark would say vb is my life, but it's not true). When it comes to vb, I now hit harder, jump higher and have greater endurance. I really like this change and how strong I feel. My hip, back and calf have gotten better too so yeah, I'm loving it!!!

I feel like I'm bragging, but hey...I worked really hard so I deserve it right?! Anyway, now you know.

Good job!!! You definitely deserve a chance to brag after all the hard work. I just started Weight Watchers (now that my baby is 3 months old) and I like the motivation to exercise and watch what I eat. I am definitely already feeling healthier and have lost a few pounds already. I know it will take time to get where I want to be, so it is nice to see a success story!
