Music Informances

This year's music informances were great as always. I love that they do these performances so the parents have a chance to see what the kids are learning. Mr. Hurst does an excellent job with making music fun while teaching the fundamentals. It's actually quite amazing. First up was Lauren. She had Mrs. Manning like Carley did last year and actually ended up with the exact same part. You can see from the smile below that she enjoyed it.

Carley's class was the only first grade class that had Mr. Hurst and I'm so glad. He usually only teaches 2nd thru 5th. Their informances are more fun because they get the audience involved, which means less pictures because I was out there participating for most of Kenny's and Carley's Informances.

The fourth grade year is the recorder year. It's a great way to get ready for all those wind instruments. I didn't have to suffer much at home. Kenny picked it up like he had been doing it all his life. The kids learned different levels of songs and as they mastered them they got colored strings to tie onto their recorder, the highest being the "black belt". Kenny was one of the first to earn his.

Kenny's class had just come from P.E., hence the red faces and sweaty messed up hair.

Mr. Hurst is probably the best music teacher in history. We miss him SOOOOOOOO much!!!!!!!!! Those pictures and videos brought back memories! It looks like all your kids had fun. They start recorder here in 3rd grade instead of 4th, so Belinda did recorder this year also, and they did Recorder Karate, too!
