Sea Lion Caves

We have a list of things we want to do while we are living in the north west...while we have the chance. One thing on the list was going to the Sea Lion Caves in Florence Oregon. It was for casted that Saturday was going to be a nice day and since Mark already took Friday off to go fishing in the morning, we spontaneously decided to start our drive down Friday, late afternoon. We drove to Eugene and went swimming in a hotel...always the best part of every trip we take. :) Saturday morning we took the 1 1/2 hr drive to Florence. It was a smelly adventure but definitely worth it.
The walk down to the elevator.
Into the cave we go.

View of the Sea Lions from outside.

Mark quickly spotted a dear grazing on the side of the hill.

My favorite part was probably the scenery. Breathtaking!
Of course you can't visit the ocean without taking a stroll along the beach. :)

We spotted tiny fish swimming.

For lunch, we spotted this unique restaurant. The food wasn't amazing or anything but the atmosphere was great!

After lunch, we drove back to Eugene so we could do more swimming of course! The scenery was great. If we ever move back to Arizona, I'm really gonna miss the beauty of this area. I never got pictures of all the rivers we drove along, but they were beautiful as well. And REALLY full with all the down pours we've had recently.
With neither Mark or I having to teach on Sunday, it was nice to not have to rush home to get things ready for Sunday. It was a great little trip.

Wow! It really is beautiful! Sometimes I want to get out of Arizona so bad and live where it's green. Hummmm, one of these days.....
