Our last weekend before school started we went to Alderbrook to do some fishing. This place is finally open to the public during the week instead of exclusively catering to business outings. You could bring in your own gear or rent polls and corn and catch and release the small trout. Carley was the first to catch a fish. Unfortunately our camera was not ready. And unfortunately, that was it for her. I think she was grossed out by the whole thing. Between us all, we caught 7 fish. It was a great fishing experience for us first timers (Mark excluded).

Carley picked up the video recorder just as we were finishing and caught this cute salamander.
After fishing, the kids jumped in the community pool at Alderbrook.
I jumped out at Kenny and said "Boo". He looked startled and I asked him if I scared him. He says,"No, I just got concerned."

As we were driving in the car one day, Carley (out of the blue) says,"I know why we have ears."I ask her why and she says,"So we can hear when Jesus speaks to us."It was so sweet!

She also said the same thing about a babysitter:"Are we going to have a boss of me tonight?"

Lauren has a really shiny purse. The sun was shining through the window on the purse and made lights shine everywhere like a disco ball. Lauren noticed and said, "Now when we want to dance, I just need to get my purse and we will have 'boogie lights'."

Lauren was telling her dad about a bird she saw at a friends house. Mark asked her, "What kind of bird, what did it look like?" Lauren responded, "The ones with a beak."

Carley asked Lauren to play "hot lava" with her. Lauren responded,"I don't like hot. Let's play warm lava instead."

"You fuddy duddy!"She said this to me while holding my face with both her hands so she could look me in the eye.
