This isn't new but worthy of a post. Every year a few families make it a weekly activity to go to Cottonwood Beach. With the torrential rains this spring and a really late summer causing the river to be too high, we didn't get to start going to the beach until August. The first few pictures are from the first week or two. There wasn't much beach and the river was dirty and the sand extra muddy. Still, it was great to finally soak up some vitamin D and start working on a tan.
Only having a few weeks to go to the beach before school started left many of us feeling bitter. When Labor Day proved to be HOT, we gathered at the beach one last time this season...with husbands! We had quite a crew and it was a BLAST!

That looks like a great time!! Hope you were able to make up for some of the lost time due to the rain!
Wow, that looks really fun. I love the difference that having husbands there makes--kids getting launched into the water. Love it.

So good to see sand. When we went this summer, the water was still at the trees. Fun!
