Anyone care for a slushy?

We had some strange weather conditions today. After church we sat down to eat lunch. I noticed some really dark clouds outside. They reminded me of monsoon season at home with black clouds off in the distance. Normally it is just gray everywhere with the sun peeking through every once and a while. I looked at the thermometer on the outside of the house. It was 50 degrees outside. A few minutes later Kenny asked if it was raining outside. We look out the window and saw slush coming down hard and thick. It wasn't hail chunks. It was clumps of really tiny ice balls stuck together. I grab the camera and take a few pictures. I got to thinking that it was weird how the slush was falling with it being 50 degrees, so I look at the thermometer again and it said 32 degrees! It was crazy. We went out front to see it in person. A neighbor noticed and came out to make fun of us taking pictures of the whole event. Yes, we really are from the desert! Oh ya, I forgot to mention, there was thunder too!

Anyway, the kids had fun playing with the ice. Of course I go inside because it is cold and I turn on the interior Christmas lights because it is so dark. Now, as I am blogging the event, I have to turn all the lights off cuz the sun is now shining bright!

These pictures really do not do the event justice. You need to click on the pictures to get a good idea of the size of the clumps. Anyhow, enjoy.

That's pretty cool. If I saw that, I would be outside taking pictures too.

My cousin told me that you can upload your pages to shutterfly.com and they will print and bind a book for you; and you can design the cover as well. I haven't checked out the cost yet. Check out this blog to see what it looks like. http://hothfamily.blogspot.com/2007/12/this-is-for-you.html

That is pretty crazy weather.  And sounds like you had a nice low-key Christmas.  It's so nice being home on Christmas.
